Motivational speaker, Victoria Humphries, became a member of the world’s first all-women’s expedition to the North Pole in 1997. She went on to co-write a book about trip, ‘Frigid Women.’ – “A fantastic celebration of adventure, courage, friendship and love” – Dawn French.
Following the North Pole expedition, she left London and trained as a Primary school teacher. For nine years Victoria taught part time whilst also running her own company as a public speaking & life coach and event organiser.
Having received the challenging Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award at school, Victoria taught in Canada for a year and then went to Newcastle University to read Politics. This was followed by a short spell as a trainee manager at Marks & Spencer plc and three years as a recruitment consultant for Angela Mortimer plc in London.
She is now married to Jeremy, a film cameraman, has a teenage son and lives near Bath. She is the former Head of Teachit, an online educational publishing company. Victoria is still very busy doing motivational & after dinner speaking. When not working, she spends her time doing anything active whether it is competing in the London Marathon, skiing, gardening or walking her dogs.
Victoria is an exceptional inspirational speaker. In addition to being a record breaking polar adventurer, three times Guinness World Record holder, mountain climber, marathon runner, author, businesswoman – she is just a ‘normal’ person. She specialises in entertaining motivational presentations for businesses looking to build their team’s resilience and ability to cope with change and ambiguity. However she is different to many speakers in that she avoids corporate jargon. She simply uses her real life experiences to show anything is possible once you put your mind to it. She personalises every presentation.
