Actress, presenter and inspirational speaker, Natalie Gumede, first came to prominence in an award-winning storyline in Coronation Street, playing Kirsty Soames, the violent partner to the much loved Tyrone Dobbs. Across 2012-2013, she was nominated for the National Television Awards and TV Choice Awards, and won British Soap Awards for Best Newcomer, Villain of the Year, and Best Dramatic Performance.

TV & Film

Immediately after, Natalie finished runner up in the 2013 season of Strictly Come Dancing, followed by a national arena tour. She also presented awards at the BAFTA Children’s Awards 2013, The TV Choice Awards 2014, and The NTA’s 2015.

Natalie can be seen in Amazon Prime Video’s Christmas film 2022, ‘Your Christmas Or Mine’ – with a sequel scheduled for 2023.

Inspirational speaker

As a public speaker at events, Natalie has 20 years of experience to share on some of the nation’s favourite shows. She also understands the importance of resilience, self motivation and discipline as an actor, which has great crossover to the world of business. Additionally, Natalie is a qualified yoga teacher and is very comfortable in the wellness and mental health space.

Natalie has been a guest speaker at events such as with the UK charity ‘Arts Emergency’ which provides mentors for under-represented young people interested in a career within the Creative Arts. There she spoke with mentors and mentees about the importance of nurturing the next generation’s aspirations, using her own experiences of overcoming adversity. She has also appeared as guest speaker at ‘an audience with’ event on P and O Cruises, speaking about her Strictly experience and career.  Plus she has been part of panel discussions at several major comic con events.  Natalie is very comfortable with speech writing and has presented awards at multiple major awards shows.  She is happy to share her career experiences, finding the crossover points between her industry and business, including:

  • The self-motivation, discipline and resilience required to endure
  • The integration of one’s public/work persona with the authentic self
  • The importance of representation/inclusivity in the work place
  • Self-care and mental health as a self-employed creative in the gig economy.
  • Knowing your worth and holding yourself to those standards
