Award-winning stand up comedian and actor, Sir Lenny Henry, is one of Britain’s best known and loved personalities. He has had a crucial influence on the creation of black-centred comedy and characters.

Lenny is also a writer, philanthropist and award-winning actor. In recent years he has starred in The Comedy of Errors at The National, at the Duchess Theatre.  Other theatre includes The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui at the Donmar Warehouse and King Hedley II at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

His on screen credits include Broadchurch, The Syndicate, The Long Song and the biographic film Danny and The Human Zoo. Lenny’s Production Company, Douglas Road, has achieved success with the acclaimed Commonwealth Kid documentary.  They also have a host of other programmes in the pipeline.

As a co-founder of Comic Relief, Lenny was delighted to recently announce that over the years the British Public has donated over £1billion. Lenny is a strong advocate for diversity, using his voice to give talks on the subject all over the world.

He is a Trustee of the National Theatre and was awarded a Knighthood for services to drama and charity. The BBC broadcast The Lenny Henry Birthday Show, looking back on his career to commemorate his 60th birthday.

In 2019 Faber published Lenny’s memoir, Who Am I Again?  In 2020 Lenny’s eponymous, Lenny Henry Show, returned in a new format to Radio 4 – with comedy sketches featuring both favourites from the original BBC1 TV series and new characters.

The award winning comedian is also a vocal advocate of Diversity in the Arts and in 2018, having completed a course at Royal Holloway University of London, Lenny received a PhD in Media Arts.

Lenny was awarded the Lifetime Achievement – Performance Award at the British Comedy Awards. His latest shows include BBC’s Lenny’s Britain and Lenny’s Perfect Night In.  His one man show, Where You From, enjoyed a sell out National tour
