Since becoming a professional comedian Dominic has performed highly acclaimed sell out one-man shows at the Edinburgh Festival, winning the Perrier Best Newcomer Award followed by a Perrier Nomination. Dominic’s material is what sets him apart, inoffensive and totally accessible to all, relying heavily on acute observations on all our lives. His material, combined with a very personable stage presence, always make his shows relaxing, intimate and hugely enjoyable.
Dominic is often seen as a panellist on shows including Five’s The Wright Stuff, Have I Got News For You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Other TV includes Heaven and Earth, The Clive James Show (Clive James described him as “hugely intelligent and enormously funny”), The Royal Variety Show, Bognor or Bust, Aunties Olympic Bloomers and They Think It’s All Over.
Dominic has written for the late Bob Monkhouse, Harry Enfield, Sir Lenny Henry and Clive Anderson, as well as being the author of several books including the critically acclaimed Only In America and How Tom Holland Eclipsed His Dad, plus an award winning radio series and four screen plays
His BBC Radio 4 show was followed up with Holland Shorts while on television, he has played a writer in both series of Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive on BBC 3.
Dominic wrote and performed his own series for Radio 4 “The Small World of Dominic Holland” which received great acclaim from both audiences and reviewers. Other credits include writing for Lenny Henry for ‘Comic Relief’, Clive Anderson’s ‘All Talk’ (BBC 1), Bob Monkhouse’s ‘On the Spot’ (BBC 1), for Des O’Connor on ‘The Des O’Connor Show’ (ITV), for Harry Enfield’s ‘The People’s Harry Enfield’ (BSkyB) and ‘The Brian Conley Show’ for ITV, in which he has also been a guest.
