Daniel Susskind is an international economist and writer. He is a Fellow in Economics at Balliol College, Oxford, where he teaches and researches. Prior to Oxford, he worked for the British Government — in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and in the Policy Unit in 10 Downing Street.

Daniel is the co-author of the best-selling book, The Future of the Professions, named as one of the best books of the year by the FT, New Scientist, and the Times Literary Supplement. The Financial Times described it as ‘remorselessly effective’, and The Times of London as ‘expert, original and witty’.

The question of how new technologies will affect work and society is one of the biggest issues of our time. Daniel Susskind is at the forefront of those exploring these themes. His TED Talk, on the future of work, has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

His latest book published in 2020 by Penguin (in UK and USA) is – A WORLD WITHOUT WORK: Technology, Automation and How We Should Respond.  It was immediately listed in the New York Times Editor’s Choice with the feedback “The book should be required reading for any presidential candidate thinking about the economy of the future.
