Comedy host, Sue Perkins,  has a warm, sharp, witty and self-depreciating style of comedy that has made her a household name and a firm television favourite.

Television

Sue Perkins is a highly accomplished presenter, writer, actor, director and comedian. Together with her presenting partner, Mel Giedroyc, Sue first entertained the nation in 1997 on the popular Light Lunch, which ran for five series before transferring to an evening slot titled Late Lunch. With their fresh and unstuffy style, they jumped, yelled and entertained their way through hours of television.  This marked the start of a double act that has lasted many years, including the seven series of The Great British Bake Off.  Sue co-presented the Supersizers alongside Giles Coren. This hugely popular show spawned a cultish devotion from fans and several spin-offs.  All of these involved dressing up in historically accurate costumes and eating (and drinking) their way through the cuisine of different eras.

Updates

Sue has presented several travelogue programmes including Japan with Sue Perkins, a two part BBC travel series about life in Japan. Her witty and warm presenting style won her the prestigious gig of hosting the BAFTA Television Awards twice. In 2020 Sue hosted the acclaimed BBC1 celebrity travelogue, Along the US-Mexico Border.  In 2021, she participated in the The Masked Singer as Dragon.  She hosted and starred in the TV series Perfectly Legal in 2022. Other projects include starring in Sky One’s Hitmen with Mel Giedroyc. Sue also presented the 2022 British LGBT Awards. Sue has appeared on numerous panel shows, on both television and radio including The News Quiz, QI and Would I Lie To You. She has both appeared on both teams and hosted Have I Got News For You. She’s explored unusual diets through the ages in The Supersizers Eat…, lived The Good Life, and considered the history of royal weddings.

Never one to turn down a challenge, Sue took part in Maestro, a BBC programme where “famous amateurs with a passion for classical music” competed for the chance to conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Proms in the Park. Sue won the competition and has since conducted several charity concerts including the world’s biggest kazoo ensemble at the Royal Albert Hall.

Radio

Sue’s love of the natural world brought her to narrate the Audible podcast series Earpedia: Animals/Plants as well as hosting BBC Radio 4’s Nature Table which received the silver comedy ARIA Award from the Radio Academy in 2023. Sue’s series of twenty podcasts: An Hour or So With… reached #1 on the iTunes podcast chart soon after its release. These intimate and informal audio specials include conversations with Mary Berry, Stewart Lee, Emma Thompson and John Lloyd. Sue hosts BBC Radio 4’s long-running iconic comedy panel show Just a Minute.  In this role she has received an incredible reception after she followed in the footsteps of the late Nicholas Parsons. The Telegraph gave Sue a five-star review, stating that “the comedy game is in safe hands”.

Corporate comedy host

Hilarious, quick witted and intelligent, Sue is a very popular corporate awards host adding charm and sparkle to all kinds of live events.
