Football presenter, Alex Scott, excelled in the sporting world as a former Arsenal Captain and England Centurion.  Subsequently she has gone on to become an award winning host and pundit with the BBC and Sky Sports.

Her TV includes BBC’s Match of the Day and Sky Sports’ Super Sunday.  Alex was appointed co-host of Sky Sport’s Goals on Sunday alongside Chris Kamara in 2019. She has gone on to be named as the new host of BBC’s Football Focus taking over from Dan Walker in 2021.

Alex was a popular celebrity on the BBC’s 2019 Strictly Come Dancing show.  As a result she went on to star in the subsequent live national tour.

She founded the Alex Scott Academy. The Academy supports female footballers aged 16-19 in partnership with Kingston College and Puma.

Mental health

Alex launched the BBC’s New mental health platform, Headroom, as an ambassador, encouraging the public to turn to this dedicated online resource in response to the mental health challenges presented by the pandemic. The service includes practical everyday tips, inspiring personal stories, activities and music mixes to boost your mood, escape and relax.

In support of the service, Alex said “As someone who has been more vocal about their own mental health journey over the past couple of years, I am honoured to be the ambassador for BBC Headroom. This mental health ‘online hub’ is a project I am very passionate about and believe this is absolutely something we need right now.”

Alex presented the BBC documentary The Truth About Improving Your Mental Health.

Awards

Plaudits include winning Broadcasting Press Guild Breakthrough Award, the British Sports Journalist of the Year Pundit Award.  Alex  went on to win the 2020 Royal Television Society Sports Commentator of the Year Award.
