Multi-award winning comedian, writer and broadcaster, Robin Ince, has recently received a prestigious comedy Chortle 2021 Award – Legend of Lockdown. The populariser of scientific ideas has been honoured for his Cosmic Shambles Network.
Robin co-created and launched The Cosmic Shambles Network together with Trent Burton of Trunkman Productions. The Network brings together the world’s leading scientists, comedians, writers and performers to create podcasts, digital content and live events. They cover science, art, history, philosophy, music, literature with an emphasis on accessibility and fun.

Numerous TV and radio appearances include Just a Minute, Mock the Week, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Robin has won several other Chortle Awards, including Best Compere & the Time Out Outstanding Achievement Award. He was nominated for Best Live Show at the British Comedy Awards. Robin won an award for science journalism – the Crick award (named after the Nobel-winner who co-discovered the structure of DNA). This was largely for his work co-presenting the R4 science programme The Infinite Monkey Cage with Prof Brian Cox.
In August 2020 Robin began presenting Laws That Aren’t Laws for BBC Radio 4. Also in 2020 Robin created the Stay at Home Festival in the wake of the Coronavirus Covid 19 situation. The festival enabled audience members to watch for free but with a `pay what you can’ option. Any profits went to help performers and venues in the most need.
