Hugh Dennis

A skilled comedian and host, Hugh Dennis is a regular on Mock The Week and well known for his role in the award winning series Outnumbered.

Comedian and actor, Hugh Dennis, is also an accomplished writer, impressionist, voice over artist and awards host.

Together with Steve Punt, Hugh formed The Mary Whitehouse Experience on BBC Radio 1, later graduating to a television series.

His radio work with Punt includes over a decade of performing Punt and Dennis, It’s Been a Bad Week and The Now Show and a run of writing The Party Line (a topical political satire that is written and performed the day prior to transmission). On The Now Show the line up included Steve Punt, Mitch Benn, Laura Shavin, Jon Holmes and Marcus Brigstocke.

Hugh has performed on various TV and radio shows, including: The Imaginatively Titled Punt and Dennis Show and sitcom Me, You and Him. He has appeared and guest hosted Have I Got News for You and played obnoxious GP Piers Crispin in BBC sitcom My Hero. Other series include the BBC award winning series, Fleabag with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Not Going Out with Lee Mack.  Other TV includes Spitting Image, Taskmaster, Richard Osman’s House of Games and Who Do You Think You Are?

He is in huge demand as a voiceover artist and live comedian and a regular on the panel game Mock the Week.   In 2019 he narrated the ITV series, Yorkshire Airport. Hugh starred in the multi-award winning BBC comedy Outnumbered, a semi-improvised sitcom based around family life.
