Comedy awards host, Richard Ayoade, is in huge demand as a corporate event presenter.

Following a law degree from Cambridge University, during which time he was president of the Cambridge Footlights club, Richard’s first real TV break was with Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace.  He directed, co-wrote and starred with Matthew Holness in this cult classic.

Richard went on to performr cameos in another cult series The Mighty Boosh  as the shaman “Saboo.” However, his position in the popular consciousness was cemented for his BAFTA winning role in the series The IT Crowd.

Other comedy hits include starring in Nathan Barley. Richard presented the C4 factual show Gadget Man, plus Travel Man and hosting the revival of The Crystal Maze.

He has also directed two feature films and written three books – with more in the planning.

Richard was a team captain on panel show Was It Something I Said.  He often appears on other comedy panel shows including Big Fat Quiz of the Year.  He has also guest hosted Have I Got News For You.

Event host

Richard is a brilliantly funny and accomplished event host.  He was invited to host both the 2020 and 2021 BAFTA TV Awards virtual ceremonies.
