Popular TV presenter and after dinner speaker, Clare Balding, has given a truly inspirational speech ahead of the Commonwealth Games on BBC.

Clare inspired the live audience of early risers in Glasgow enthusing, “People make Glasgow and you, the people, will make the Glasgow Commonwealth Games the best it has ever been because performance depends on energy and you provide the energy. Athletes will break records, athletes will win gold medals, athletes will do things they’ve never done before because of you.You will give them the support. You will lift them to higher things, so come with your minds, your bodies and your voices. Shout them on and make Glasgow the best Commonwealth Games ever!"

Clare will be one of the key members of the BBC team to cover the Commonwealth Games along with Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan and Hazel Irvine.

Do also look out for her latest book, Walking Home: My Family, and Other Rambles, which is to be published in September.  Reviews have been glowing and include: "Moving, funny, and larger than life". (Michael Morpurgo). "Simply fabulous". (Jilly Cooper). "Stonking anecdotes ...sharply charming". (Guardian). "Magical, enchanting, riotously eccentric". (Daily Mail).

Clare is a superb conference and event host, after dinner and motivational speaker and always receives glowing feedback.
