Michelle is a broadcaster and businesswoman who is known for her frank, passionate and down-to-earth attitude. A weekly commentator on Sky News Sunrise, Michelle also presents ‘The Pledge’, Sky News’ popular weekly debate show.

Growing up in Hull, Michelle showed a flair for business at a young age. She excelled in the technology industry and achieved an impressive 6-figure salary at age 22.

She made her mark in the media by winning series 2 of BBC’s The Apprentice, beating off competition from 14,000 people, to land a top job with Lord Alan Sugar.

For the years that followed, Michelle launched a number of online deal sites, offering customers the best prices on a variety of popular consumer products. In 2007 Michelle’s autobiography, ‘Anything is Possible’ hit shelves, and charted her journey from a council estate in Hull, overcoming various adversity to the point of winning The Apprentice and beyond.

Michelle business interest is in Technology and she has consulted to some of Britain’s largest companies about how they can leverage technology. She is also passionate about helping people gain employment and she runs an annual jobs fair across the country where she offers advice, CV workshops and interview skills training.

Undoubtedly one of Michelle’s toughest challenges came when she ran as an independent political candidate in the 2017 General Election for her hometown, Hull West and Hessle. She is passionate about change in the parliamentary system.

Michelle’s true passion is current affairs, and for the past 6 years she has debated such topics each week on national TV. She regularly appears on political programmes including BBCs ‘Question Time’, and ’This Week’ as well as ITVs ‘The Agenda’. Her bid for Parliament was covered in a Sky News documentary.

As well as politics and current affairs, Michelle has also talked about more sensitive subjects such as mental health, depression and even suicide. Michelle has opened up about past experiences of her own, and wants to remove the stigma surrounding these issues, and help normalise the discussion of mental health. She is Patron of Hull’s ‘Children in Care’ programme, helping to raise aspirations of ‘looked after’ children.

Michelle thrives on challenges and has completed both the London Marathon and the London Triathlon several times.
