Liz Johnson is an accomplished British Paralympian, entrepreneur and a motivational speaker. Liz won the Paralympic swimming Gold at the Beijing Games in 2008 and has set up a recruitment agency that aims to close the disability employment gap. The pinnacle of her swimming career came in 2008, which was marked with ultimate sadness. While Liz was flying over to the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, she lost her mother after a long battle with cervical cancer. However, Liz decided to continue with the Games after being told that the funeral could be held when she returned home. In addition to her swimming ambitions, Liz also gained a degree in Business Management and Finance at Swansea University.
